In 1948 Princeton was on the cusp of its final stretch of national glory, and this win over a good Columbia team was just a taste of what was to come. After winning six games the following year, the Dick Kazmaier led Tigers rose to #6 in the country in 1950 and 1951 on the strength of two unbeaten teams, and then in 1952 extended their streak to 24 wins in a row. It was the last time that any Ivy football team would ever approach such dizzying heights.
