IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS

Due to a series of changes in the makeup of conferences, HistoricFootballPosters.com has been required to remove many of the posters which we had previously offered for sale. This game is one of the posters affected.

Hopefully this will be only a temporary setback. You can contact us at sales@historicfootballposters.com if you wish to inquire about any prospects of reinstatements for the upcoming holidays. You will receive a prompt and personal reply. We thank you for your patience, and more than share your frustration.

This was Notre Dame's one and only bowl appearance prior to 1970, and they made the most of it. Rockne and his crew, with a slew of Southern Pacific railroad cars at their disposal, arrived in Pasadena via a circuitous route that wound from Chicago to New Orleans to Houston to Tucson, where they spent four days practicing at the University of Arizona's stadium.

Then after disposing of the Stanford Indians and their All-American Ernie Nevers, the Ramblers were feted by city officials and "Irish" fans in a long return trip that wound its way from San Francisco to Wyoming and Montana, finally arriving up back in South Bend in the middle of January. Not a bad Christmas vacation, but the backlash over the excess was in great part responsible for the Ramblers' subsequent 45-year absence from postseason play.
