IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS

Due to a series of changes in the makeup of conferences, HistoricFootballPosters.com has been required to remove many of the posters which we had previously offered for sale. This game is one of the posters affected.

Hopefully this will be only a temporary setback. You can contact us at sales@historicfootballposters.com if you wish to inquire about any prospects of reinstatements for the upcoming holidays. You will receive a prompt and personal reply. We thank you for your patience, and more than share your frustration.

In the 30's there were many cash-strapped colleges that allowed advertising or in-house promotions to be placed on the cover, such as this ad for the train to Charlottesville for the upcoming Virginia game. At least this one didn't feature cheerleaders puffing away on a cigarette, as many such Lucky Strike sponsored covers did a few years later. (See the Arkansas or Lehigh gallery pages for examples of cigarette ads on covers.)
