This was the second year in a row that the Bulldogs and their archfoes from Cambridge brought perfect records to The Game. And while 1890 saw the Harvards eke out a narrow win, this year was a different story, as the Yalies rang up a perfect season with a calcimining of the Crimson comrades. A further historical note to this glorious afternoon was that it witnessed the genesis of the phenomenon of ticket scalping, as the Springfield grounds were sold out as soon as the seats were put on sale. It wasn't to be the last time.
BTW when we write about "perfect" seasons, we might elaborate on that with four short footnotes: 13 games. 13 wins. Total points scored: 488. Total points allowed: 0. And to show that they weren't kidding, the Bulldogs did it all again the next year.
