In spite of a break in the clouds and a bright, sunny day, the Mustangs' fabled air attack stalled for the entire Pasadena afternoon. The Stanford Indians parlayed a ferocious defensive effort---six interceptions and two fumble recoveries---into a narrow 7 to 0 victory that brought the Rose Bowl crown back to Palo Alto for the first time in eight years.
