Using only eleven men the entire afternoon, Yale scored one of the greatest upsets in its entire history when it shocked Princeton on its home field. This was no ordinary Tiger squad. It had raced unbeaten through 1933 by a combined 217 to 8 and after the first six games of 1934 it was 242 to 18. This was a true football force.

But on this day there was no stopping the Bulldogs. They halted the Tigers on the Yale one yard line. They refused to give an inch. They held the ball on the Princeton 32 at the end of the game.

And when it was over, the Yale band did a snake dance over the Nassau gridiron, after delerious Bulldog fans had torn down the goalposts. It was a glorious afternoon.

Oh, and by the way, the next year the Tigers reverted to 9-0-0 again. How perfectly dull.
