IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS

Due to a series of changes in the makeup of conferences, HistoricFootballPosters.com has been required to remove many of the posters which we had previously offered for sale. This game is one of the posters affected.

Hopefully this will be only a temporary setback. You can contact us at sales@historicfootballposters.com if you wish to inquire about any prospects of reinstatements for the upcoming holidays. You will receive a prompt and personal reply. We thank you for your patience, and more than share your frustration.

In one of the great moments of Cotton Bowl history, the Owls' Dickie Moegle was on his way to a long touchdown gallop when he was brought down on a jarring tackle by the Crimson Tide's Tommy Lewis. The only problem was that when the play began, Lewis had been sitting on the Alabama bench! It was one of the best pre-ESPN highlight plays ever, and as a measure of its impact, both Moegle and Lewis were flown from Dallas to the CBS television studio in New York, where two nights later they both appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. It wasn't quite Tonya vs Nancy, but then again it was a kinder and gentler age.
