Due to a series of changes in the makeup of conferences, HistoricFootballPosters.com has been required to remove many of the posters which we had previously offered for sale. This game is one of the posters affected.

Hopefully this will be only a temporary setback. You can contact us at sales@historicfootballposters.com if you wish to inquire about any prospects of reinstatements for the upcoming holidays. In 1869 Rutgers had beaten Princeton in what is considered to be the first college football game ever played, even though it bore little resemblance to the mid-20th century version of the sport. But from 1870 through 1937 the Scarlet Knights were like Diogenes, wandering 67 years through a 32 game wilderness in search of an honest win. So it was only sporting of the Tigers to let Rutgers win this opening game in their brand new stadium. It only took the Knights another nine years to win the next one.
